What is cfgd?
'cfgd' is planned to be a common interface to all kinds of configurations.
You possibly want to read the 'why' section.
The 'cfgd' package is planned to consist of (at least) three parts:
-
'cfgd'
- the daemon itself (to be implemented)
-
'libcfg'
- the API to access and manipulate configurations
-
'cfg' - a textscreen tool for endusers to manipulate
configurations (to be implemented)
The current version is v0.0.2
You can download the current snapshot here
a scheme of how cfgd should work:
Currently 'cfgd' is work in progress and it is a very ambitious project.
At this early state of development there is still a lot of work to be done
and my time is limited.
Want to contribute?
There is plenty of work to be done:
- Write Documentation
- Set up a decent webpage :)
- write cfgd
- write cfg
- improve libcfg
- port libcfg to other languages (perl, php etc.)
If you think you can contribute to one of these, feel free to do so and drop
me an email.
